A few Famous Freemasons

For every Famous Freemason there are 1,000's if not 10,000's of 'ordinary' men. Although Freemasonry admits men of all creeds, colours, faiths and nationalities it is not interested in those attributes as such and therefore does not record any of those details in the membership records. That means, for example, that it is impossible to tell from those records what an individual's faith is. Nor are the records marked 'famous' and so prominent invididuals have often been discovered by accident and it is certainly true that many other famous men have yet to be identified as Freemasons.
