Throughout the past 177 years there has existed a very strong link between Barbados and Scottish Freemasonry. Lodge Scotia No 340 was founded in 1844, Lodge Thistle No 1014 was founded in 1906 and Lodge St John No 1062 was founded in 1909. The three Lodges came together and as constituent Lodges formed The District Grand Lodge of Barbados in 1917. The District Grand Lodge continued to grow and still thrives. All in The Grand Lodge of Scotland take great pleasure in congratulating Right Worshipful District Grand Master Brother Andre S. F. Harding and all of the District Lodges and Brethren upon the new found status of Barbados. We wish them all, family friends and associates hearty congratulations.

On this Saint Andrews Day, 30th November 2021, The Grand Lodge of Antient, Free and Accepted Masons of Scotland offer our sincere congratulations to all in Barbados and wish them great happiness as they celebrate their new status as a Republic. It was 55 years ago on this date when Barbados realised Independence and have now completed the journey to full sovereignty. We wish them great joy and success in their future.
